How can I get online at EOU?

There are multiple ways to connect to the EOU campus network, using both Wi-Fi and wired connection points (jacks).

Wi-Fi Networks

Two networks are broadcast across campus, and are available for use by anyone with a Mountie Pass. Visitors may register for a 24-hour guest pass by connecting to the EOU-Guest Wi-Fi network.

The EOU Wi-Fi Network

This is a secure network requiring a valid Mountie Pass to connect. If you have a Mountie Pass and a modern computer, smart phone, or tablet, then connect to this network.

The EOU-Guest Wi-Fi Network

This is a public, unsecured, network requiring a valid Mountie Pass, a valid 24-hour guest pass, or a registered device to connect. If you have a device that cannot connect to the EOU Wi-Fi network, or if you are a visitor without a mountie pass, you should use this network.

Wired Networks

Dorms

Each Dorm room has one or more active network jacks. Presently, these jacks do not require any sort of login, and will connect your device to the ResNet LAN specific to the building.

In the future, these jacks will begin requiring a login, similarly to the EOU-Guest Wi-Fi network .

Academic and Common Areas

Presently, only classroom equipment is permitted in these areas.

Office and Meeting areas

Presently, only office and meeting equipment is permitted in these areas.
